Hi there,
I've learned to create Things as Ressource-Friendly as possible, therefore I allways have an akward Feeling when I set several Perfmons to show the same Thing but in other Display Modes (like Download kb/s in Text and Progressbar). I'd like to have the ability to set a Textmeter through MeterMaths as a Value-Clone, but without creating a new Access to the Perfmon / WMI / whatever. I am requesting this simply because I don't know if Samurize has an intern Database that keeps Track of requested Perfs and supplies all Meters the same Perf from only one Query instead of, let's say, five. Even when it's that way, it would help especialy for Perfs and WMIs because you don't need to work yourself through the whole WMI-Stack of Options, you simply copy an existing Meter down to an Textmeter and Format it like you want. -------------------- ![]() USER MIGRATED TO SAMURIZE.US |

Meter Maths was disabled for Text Meters because there is no code behind them to actually do anything. I'll investigate whether its possible to add something like this.

I hadn't really thought about it until now but would linking the meters cause less load than letting them run independently?

We've never really done any performance stuff on it. So it may or may not be quicker. There is probably less IO requests etc (dependent on the request), not sure where windows calls are quicker than processing stuff in memory. But it probably takes more CPU to process the meter maths.

How are the Meters Designed anyway?
Is there a Query independently for each Meter, or is the Value of, let's say, a Perfmon for Upload Bandwith querried only once and then stored in case another Meter querries the same thing? I can't imagine a System where each Meter is querried on it's own, though. It would use way more CPU Time than the roughly 1.56% I get displayed every other Second... -------------------- ![]() USER MIGRATED TO SAMURIZE.US |

Sadly every meter has three components, source/display/input. I would like each meter to only have display and input but moving all the source stuff out at present is such a large job that I cannot commit the time to doing it. > 3 Months probably worth of effort for not that much gain really.
