Hi, I'm new in here, I got enchanted by Samurize the first time I saw a screenshot of it!
I've adventured a little by modding my desktop, and the nice thing is that it can interact with other monitoring/displaying apps. There is a built-in for speedfan, but nowhere I found one about Everest, the system diagnostics and monitoring software. The aim is to get my tray clean of too many numbers in squares, although I need them. A preliminary search for "Everest" in the site plus in the forum returned no results. Not even in the 'feature requests list'. So, are we likely to see an everest script for samurize in here? Thanks! |

R U sure? You need to practice then .Everest & WMI: http://www.samurize.com/modules/ipboard/in...t=ST&f=4&t=9682 http://www.samurize.com/modules/ipboard/in...=ST&f=7&t=10895 This post has been edited by risk3 on Nov 16 2007, 12:02 AM |

Oh my good God!
This forum appears to be a change in my little life. I never felt so lost about some hardware/OS information! Well, it seems that the search function is bugged then, I tried again the string 'everest' and it returned only one topic, but not the one you pointed me. WMI: nice to meet you! An acronym-finder search returned two most probable meanings: Windows Management Instrumentation and Windows Management Interface. What is the right one? Ok, whatever... I understood NOTHING from that topic. Don't even know how to manage WMI's (if this thing is countable, otherwise ignore the 's please). At the Samura config editor, I right-clicked, pointed to 'add wmi', and the maze got even more entangled. there are tens of values like w32_processor etc, but what do I do with these? What does this have to do with Everest?Sorry for the n00bish query, if I may! :S |

in everest you must "Enable writing sensor values to WMI" in SETTINGS -> HARDWARE MONITORING -> EXTERNAL APPLICATIONS
Then Add WMI in the editor from samurize Looks here http://www.samurize.com/modules/ipboard/in...e=post&id=79039 So you can make it. Exemple TMOBO = Are the temperature from Motherboard This post has been edited by moinmoin on Nov 16 2007, 12:20 PM -------------------- deskmodder.de das offizielle deutsche Samurizeforum

Or failed by user error. ![]() If you used the forum search notice that "Search posts from..." is set to 30 days ago by default so don't forget to change it when you do a search if you want to find old(er) posts as well (found 15 topics with everest thru it myself). The best and easiest to use is the site search which searches everything (forums, plugins, news, reports etc.) by default. |

Sorry for late response.
DUH 4 me I still got only three topics this time in the forum search, this one, [rul=http://www.samurize.com/modules/ipboard/index.php?showtopic=8717&hl=everest]this one[/url] and another one that has nothing to do with Everest. In the Site search, still nothing interesting but beautiful random screenshots. In the other topic someone says it's been discontinued so there wouldn't be a plugin for a discont. app, however, that topic is 1.5 years old and a new version has come up. Unfortunetely, I can't do this myself (like I've seen some people in here have an incredible expertise). So, is it likely that someone in the future will do a plugin? Thanks! |

Thanks gentlemen, I've come to a decision: I'll save this topic and the related one so I can look them up in the future. I'll come back when further issues arise! Tks

The post about it being discontinued is the free version was discontinued.
Since Everest outputs to WMI that is the best interface to use to access the data rather than hand crafting something into Samurize. Which would only be possible if everest had an interface to allow for this. |

Samurize have a written warning, a checkbox need to be set to update a grapg from WMI faster than 1 minute.
the checkbox says "undate more frequently, use with care" Why - is there any problem fetching 10-15 values each second or two? |

If you are hitting anything every couple of seconds the CPU load will increase, most of the time it works fine, but its to make people think about what they are doing which is why we have the warning.
