Firefox - the de facto standard. IE and Microsoft suck. Go Mozilla! Opera is bloatware, but it's OK too I guess. It runs light, yes, but it has too much $#it that I don't care to have and some of it I can't even get rid of.
Yeah, way too many... But they're so useful. This is what every IE user doesn't get. Azureus - easily the best BitTorrent client (and it's not my "humble" opinion) ![]() mIRC - well duh what geek doesn't use this? SmartFTP and FlashFXP - FTP clients Winamp - 1 million degrees of cool. Outpost Firewall - if you've never tried this light yet powerful firewall, you don't know what you're missing. My days with Norton seem like such a long time ago! NOD32 - superb, light anti-virus, this and Outpost are perfect for security. Thunderbird - desperately waiting for the "Lightning" extension that adds PIM. Microsoft OneNote - OMG I said the dirty word! I should be punished... I've been looking for a replacement for a while, I need a good PIM too! Outlook is bloatware. Nero Burning ROM - sweet. NewsBin Pro - Usenet and NZBs Trillian - sweet. Photoshop - can't live without it. Dreamweaver - I still need to learn so much about this. Studio MX - well you know, to help out the Dreamweaver if it needs Flash or quick web graphics with Fireworks and $hit. UltraMon - perfect app for multiple display management and quick display scheme switching. MS Office - well I need this, you know, if I ever need to do "work". ![]() Though on that last one, and Windows, I'm looking to make the switch to Linux soon and start using open-source software instead. And I'm not gonna list stuff like WinRAR, cuz who doesn't have to use that? As I said, I'm desperately waiting for Mozilla to get it together with Lightning/Sunbird/Mozilla Calendar and really develop that to be an Outlook killer. |

I think most stuff I use has been mentioned so I won't repeat. However, a cool program I've just discovered is Launchy , which sits in the background and indexes your Start Menu.
Pressing Alt+Space lets you type in whatever program you want and Enter starts it. Brilliant. |
