Hello !
here is my new plugin : The TaskBar ... In fact, it is a copy of the Windows TaskBar, doing exactly the same things, but more customizable... For the moment, it's able to switch between windows, minimize/restore a window and display the system menu of a window... it also automatically display a tooltip to show the full window name. Actually i'm focusing on usage, but i'll add skining ability soon. For the moment, it draws white buttons (red for selected task) on a black background. Here is what it looks like : ![]() Another way to display it : ![]() Here is the params window : ![]() For the moment, you have these options in this window: - Horizontal or Vertical display - Button size (Width & Height) - Auto Width (to fill the full width of the meter) - Space between tasks... - Text font and size - Text horizontal & vertical align - Display icon or not... I'll add some other options soon for skinning ability. What the plugin can do : - Displays the task list as you wish ![]() - Mouse over a task displays a tooltip - Click on a task bring it to front - Re-Click on a selected task minimize/restore it - Right click on a task display its system menu I already know about some bugs : - If the samy refresh rate is too big, the plugin does'nt handles mouse correctly. - System menu unavailable on **some** tasks started before the config loads... - Tooltip does'nt disapear if mouse moved **quickly** Please try it, and post feeds... thx *** SEE MY LAST POST FOR UPDATED VERSION *** |

I don't know what you guys think but wouldn't it be better if Samurize didn't have refresh rate for stuff like this. It would only respond to input if you know what I mean. That would decrese the CPU usage I think.

I agree with you Em7, i think that an option could be added (to plugin meters) to let the plugin decine when it needs to be redrawn... when needed it could post a message to Client to be refreshed. That could be a great new feature with Imput SDK
![]() In all cases, i will rewrite the mouse-handling part of this plugin to reduce CPU usage and to correct some detection bugs... I'm also working on another plugin : The systray ... yes, real one! I only display icons for the moment... that's why i don't release it for now. |

Again I guess this comes down to the way Samurize was designed; it was never meant to be a shell replacement; as such, there was no provision made for real-time input and event systems. I feel that this kind of functionality would require a major (probably complete) rewrite of Samurize, and even then I'm still not quite sure how it would work (complete shell replacements are a little out of my league

Nice.
The tooltips never seem to go away though, no matter how fast/slow I move the mouse. -------------------- New Samurize site: www.samurize.us

seems to work, but i want to select all the colors...
thats what you could add ![]() (there is no title of the application in my config. why? just the icon and a long black space :-/) |

now this is insane.
and how hard would it be to add a option now that samurize gets pr item refresh rate for it to be set so that it only refreshes when the plugin tells it so? |

Hello again!
I'm here with the new release of the TaskBar plugin : First, let's take a look at the param box and a config example: ![]() example: ![]() About previous release bugs, i think i've fixed the ToolTip problem, in both vertical and horizontal display... And as expected, i'v added some usefull features : - Tasks border are now optional, and you can choose the colors for active and inactive tasks - Now you can choose to skin task buttons using images (PNG,JPG,GIF,BMP,TIFF... transparancy OK). Image is stretched to button size. - You can now choose title colors for active and inactive tasks... - Even icon size is definable... Other modifications : - Background is now transparent - Param box reorganisation... - Complete rewrite of task detection ToDo list : - Optional task titles (same as icon, border...) - Definable icon position (same as title) - Options for images (normal/stretched/tiled, position) - Margins on image for better skinning (like Stardock SkinStudio : )Ok, now it's your turn to work, please give it a try... and ask for improvements... now this is starting to become one instane plugin. now all we need is a way to hide the startbar itself (i belive there is a signal somewhere that can do that as i ran into a program thats called nextstart that did just that) and a way to have the start menu appear when a item is clicked (most likely will have to wait for that SDK. why do i have a feel that the SDK will take samurize into being a fullblown desktop replacement?)...
