SUMMARY:

DIMM (assumed to be GPU) returns an unidentifiable temp on XPS2

PLUGIN FILE:

i8k.dll (Last modified date: 8 March 05 @ 11:18 PM)

SYSTEM:

Dell XPS2 with nVidia Go6800 Ultra

NOTES:

1. The GPU temp option returns the DIMM temperature. (This is not a bother.)

2. GPU temps returned by i8kFanGUI were verified in the nVidia control panel.

3. i8kFanGUI and the i8k plugin were refreshed at the same time when comparing temps.

4. The North Bridge field which is listed in the latest version of i8kFanGUI always seems to have the same value as the DIMM field.

DETAILS:

Sensor / i8kFanGUI / i8k plugin

CPU / 36 / 36
GPU / 56 / 52 (using the i8k DIMM option)
DIMM / 51 / 51 (using the i8k GPU option)
North Bridge / 51 / 50 (using the i8k OTHER option)

What this seems to indicate is:

1. I cannot read the GPU temp with any of the i8k options.
2. The i8k DIMM and OTHER options return values that don't seem to map to anything in i8kFanGUI.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Did I post this in the wrong forum? I thouht that Torsius had said not to post problems with it in the beta forum anymore. I figured he would have seen it by now.
