What advantage(s) do/does mu(don't want to find the symbol)torrent have over others. Say, Azureus?

azureus, compared to µtorrent, is really slow and using a lot of memory.

Well if you don't have a problem with lacking system resources, there's no need to change of course. smil3dbd4e398ff7b.gif

Also, uTorrent tends to take longer to get started on a torrent. (But once it gets started it's usually just as quick as other software.)

right if you feel that azureus suits your needs, no need to switch.

you can modify max half open TCP connection to 50 in the advance setting. that way it'll connect to the tracker faster.

It seems to work pretty nice now. I get a lot of stuff from demonoid so usually takes awhile anyway.

And I absolutely LOVE the scheduler. Now my parents won't whine about me hogging the internet while they're home. :-)

Azureus doesn't have a scheduler, I was saying I love that option on utorrent (how is that on the M key? What country do you live in?). And I can actually surf the web while downloading and uploading now. Azureus used to plug up my whole cable connection.

Thanks, I'll try that. µTorrent - Wow, it's working! smil3dbd4e398ff7b.gif

About the plugin, I don't really think there's much more that can be said except for the first few posts, although I guess that doesn't mean we can hijack this thread... Sorry. smil3dbd4ddd6835f.gif

i didn't mean you; i wrote that we should talk about uTorrent in off topic... but 5 minutes later, sb posted another message about uTorrent... i felt a bit annoyed smil43e67f1cd6a58.gif .. but everything is fine now smil43e6c401b9177.gif

anyway, about uTorrent :
  • its filesize is about 150 kb and it uses very very small amount of system resources.
  • by the schedule feature, you can manage your downloads easily.
  • it has rss support, you can auto download and start torrents in a specific feed.
  • it has almost all of the features that BitComet and Azureus had.
  • a web interface is being developed by a person who is not an Utorrent-crew.
  • it has download limits.. you cant download faster than 3 x speed of your upload.. its good for p2p..
