I don't know anything about coding a program but is there a particular reason why Samurize uses this refresh interval thing to update the desktop view? What I really miss in Samurize is a possibility to do dynamically animated menus/menu units, sliding things and that kind of stuff. Now the problem is that if you want to do such things it'll eat your CPU like hell and slow down your comp when using other applications at the same time. For example Winamp 5 has damn cool visual sliding effects with the side units with modern skins, that kind of animated menus I would like to see in Samurize too. Would that kind of upgrade be possible someday, maybe in Sammy 2.0?
If the Sammy core would be changed, I guess a lot of the plugins need to be re-writed though. |

The update interval is unfortunately very deep down in samurize and it would mean a complete rewrite of all the code. It would be a heck of an undertaking to completel rewrite the area. I'm sure there are better ways for samurize to update the screen and do drawing of things but it would mean a dramatic rewrite and I would suspect that most of the plugins would have to be re-written which would be a really problem.

We have ConfigRegion, ConfigSlider, and InputImage. What more do you want?

Adam: Yeah I though so.
Your plugins are great uziq, but even so, they can't do everything I would like to achieve. ![]() As far as I know, it's not possible to do this kind of animation any of those plugins: ![]() Attached Image

yeah, that exact animation is probably not possible.
The closest thing is ConfigSlider, which can move an entire config back and forth. |

Yep, or ConfigRegion, which can draw the side panel but that doesn't look very good. Could it be possible to update ConfigRegion so, that while drawing a part into visible, it could kinda push an image in front of it, if you know what I mean? That would do what I'm asking.

Nope, that's impossible.
What would be super is if Samurize allowed plugins to manipulate individual meter size/pos, and also a way to tell the config to refresh. |

Well then, Adam, would that be possible/easily done what uziq said?

It would be possible to allow plugins to do this. I have wanted to do it for a while but there are so many other features that people want.

Ok, please add this to feature request list, would you? I really really would love this possibility and I don't think I'm the only one.
Then uziq could make my dreams come true and add this feature for example into ConfigRegion. ![]() And what comes into other requests what people want, don't think this one is the smallest one, this would allow users to make completely new visual effects into their configs. |
