Cool, does this require cookies like torsius' plugin?

Btw, audible/visual notifications might already possible if the plugin has a function to get the number of unread emails - you could use built-in Samurize alert values

Nope, no cookies required.

I was thinking something more along the lines of Gmail Notifier style alerts, but that will be a while away. I have a few more plugins I'd like to do first

Cool! Any chance of an option to include read emails in the counts? I'd like to be able to display the last 5 emails received (regardless of whether they have been read or not). Maybe include an optional "(new) " at the start of unread messages so I can see which ones are new?
Also a total mail count function (includes read emails) would be nice too.

Sorry for the barrage of requests (now you probably know how I feel hehe )

Hehe, nah, that's cool. I don't mind people requesting things.

This plugin uses the ATOM feed, so it's pretty limited in what it can display - infact it can only deal with unread mail. Sorry to disappoint you like that. Maybe you could ask Google if they could make a different ATOM feed for the entire inbox, not just unread mail.

This is just a plugin. You'll need to create a config file which uses this plugin. In the config editor select Add Plugin, then select Gmail.dll from the plugin list.
Check out the readme for what functions you need to check your account.

If you're still stuck on how to create a config file, look at the sample configs that came with the samurize installation.

This is not working for me. The getMessagecount always answers 0, even when I put an incorrect password. Is there a way to figure out where the problem is?

Sorry, scratch that. It does work. Just copied and pasted the encoded password semoving the initial character (a space, rather odd).

I am having the 0 mail problem as well. I don't see a blank space in the encoded password.
