Samurize News : Samurize forums down, end of the road
Posted by Alderaic on 2015/4/17 18:00:00 (5708 reads)

Hi Guys,

The forums have been down for a while now, and the us site is gone.

Sadly I dont have any way to contact member of the crew that would have the server information to debug / fix the website.

If any community still lives around samurize, you can comment on this post, for others to find you, at this point we can acknowledge that the samurize project is officialy over.

Thanks for all the years and the fun, it was really appreciated.

Thanks again to Cure & Sim for starting it all and giving a lot of us the opportunity to learn code, scripts, have fun with graphics & computers.

Hope you guys enjoyed the trip

Hey guys. I don't have a recent version of the source (only prior to when AdamC took over coding)

I still have control over this site but the CMS/version is so old so it really needs a reboot. I would love to do this but don't have the time lately

I'm sad that Samurize is fading away. I've used the app since the very beginning and still use it on all my Win machines. It is still a must have app on any Windows desktop, hands down.<br /><br />The US site was great, but it didn't seem to last long. It was a very active community during its time, but just disappeared.<br /><br />I would gladly host the site/forum for free to keep things alive. I couldn't contribute to the upkeep of the app or adding new features, if that is even possible at this point. I would love to do something to keep it alive though.<br /><br />Feel free to contact me at <a href="http://mailto:lordzelo@ih4x0ru.com" target="_blank">

I'm still using Samurize after many years. Some parts have lost function, maybe in the transition from Win XP to Win 7, or maybe due to hardware upgrades, I don't know. The two main things I've lost are real-time indicators for hard drive read and write, and my "Uptime" display, which for some reason now will only display 49d, 17h, 2m and 47s no matter how long my computer has been on.

Fortunately I'm still able to display my disk space free and used, and a lot of info from Speedfan (temps, fan speeds, voltages) as well as a realtime line graph of my CPU core utilization.

Is there any other program like Samurize available, but still being maintained?

I haven't used Samurize in years, and have no way to fix the forums or downloads section. But I'm ready to work on some more plugins if I can remember how!

The app that I've found to be the next best thing is Rainmeter. It was used a lot in conjunction with Samurize in the past, but it has taken on a lot of Samurize's functionality. It's also open source and on Github, which will hopefully keep it alive for a long time. I wish they would make Samurize open course and put the code out there somewhere.

I would gladly open up the source, however I do not have it anymore and the last version I had has been heavily modified since.
And there were a couple libs that were not open source either back then.

If anyone can still contact AdamC, he's the one who could release it.
Glad to know that Rainmeter is now open source as well, I'm going to look into it

AdamC posted the source at ProjectLocker back in 2009, and also made an account for me. I was never able to get it to compile correctly, but it's still there, and I should have a backup on my computer.

Hi guys, another Samurize diehard here. Simply can't imagine my desktop without it. In fact, I am about to upgrade the PluginPak to v1.09 (thank you uziq!) which I must have missed when it was released.

Uziq, lets get to work! I have the bug again. Rainmeter is really hard to use. I opened the config editor of Samurize, and did half of a config in about an 1/8th of the time.

My email is
I want to get these forums back up and running. I will take care of hosting, or whatever is needed.

Since I cannot get a hold of anyone, I bought a new domain, hosting and am currently installing phpbb. Any of the old crew want to help in this, hit me up on my email. As I have no clue what I am doing, it will be a bit before I can get the site going. Its learn as I go time again. If someone can contact me with ANY information regarding the site, hit me up. Samurize the best monitoring program. I'm sorry, that was the end of the project.
Thank you for your work.

samurize is still able to do things that other programs can't. that said, i haven't used it for a while. if it's gone, farewell to a great program, but maybe we can get whatever source code exists (even if it's an older version), and get it up somewhere (github?) in hopes someone takes it up for a reboot.

If anyone reading this that has a way to get in touch with someone that has access to Samurize source code, please post here, or go to my website and post the info there. Aldaraic? NeM? KMDonlon? Anyone? I am trying to keep Samurize alive! I can only do so much though. www.samurize.org.

Glad to see some of the old crew are still checking in. The good old days, hey..

I always did wonder what became of AdamC and Samurize.

For me, the drawcard was being able to shoehorn everything into the clock area (clockclient.exe?) where it was always visible - nothing else has ever had that functionality.
